Watch: The Shooting of the Russian Ambassador in Ankara

Andrey Karlov, the Russian ambassador to Turkey, has reportedly died of gunshot wounds after violence erupted at an art gallery in Ankara, as part of protests over Russian involvement in the Syrian war. Sources report that Karlov was immediately transported to a local hospitam where he later died of his wounds. Several others were also injured in the attack. The Syiran conflict has put Russia and Turkey at odds recently, and this incident – which is being referred to officially as an “assassination” – will no doubt only serve to exacerbate matters.
